Sunday Recap…

What an awesome day.  Our 21 Day Fast came to an end and we finished well.  The testimonies each person gave were incredible.  I believe the work God is doing has only begun.  The best is ahead of us.  So, let’s continue to press on to lay hold of that for which we were laid hold of.

Worship Team, you guys did an amazing job leading us to the throne of our King.  The time in His presence was sweet.

I am seeing so many changes taking place in the lives of those in our In Christ’s Image Training.  Let us be one as the Father, Son and Spirit are one.

I think more people went out to eat Sunday.  The chicken was calling everyone!  It was good to come off the fast, but, I was real conscious when I went to chose what I was going to eat for my first meal.  Like someone testified Sunday, “I don’t want to go back to the way things were before the fast.”  So let me encourage you to be different.  New beginnings…

Finish Well…

j0424372.jpgThis Saturday.  We are coming to the end of our 21 Day Fast.  Take courage to finish well.

Our time fasting has been one of the most unifying things we have done together.  God has done incredible things in us.

Please take time to post what the Lord has been doing in you and saying to you.

See you Sunday.  I’m looking forward to a great outpouring of the Holy Spirit!

Church-wide Prayer Night… January 16th

 j0409766.jpg

All Church members are requested to to join their Leadership for an update on The Dwelling Place and a time of prayer.

TONIGHT   7:00 – 8:00 PM

Our next Churchwide Prayer will be February 20th & March 19th.

Sweet…

“O taste and see that the Lord is good…” Psalm 34:8  This Sunday was a sweet time.  The worship team did an awesome job pointing us to the Father and it was a sweet time in His presence. Did I say sweet yet?  I know some were stretched when Justin called for everyone to go pray for someone, but what an incredible sight to see everyone respond.  Even our visitors jumped in.

Today is Day 8 of our 21 Day Fast.  Keep pressing in and keep listening for the Lord to speak to you.  Don’t be surprised if the enemy mounts an attack.  Believe me, he’s already at work trying to discourage some.  He may prowl around like a lion seeking someone to devour, but, he is not the Lion (of the tribe of Judah.)

Keep lifting one another up in prayer.  Open yourself up as a vessel to be poured into.  Fan the flames and stir your expectation!

Thoughts on Sunday’s Service…

We kicked off our 21 Day Fast with high expectation of what God is going to do.  Keep your expectation by reading your guide every day and listen to what the Lord has to say.  One of the rewards of fasting is revelation.  Expect God to speak to you and reveal things to you through His Word, an inner witness, things you see, dreams and visions.  So, press on and don’t loose heart.  God will reward openly to you what you have sacrificed in secret.

There was a sweet spirit in our worship.  Keep pressing in.  Push the boundaries of you comfort zone.  Listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit when you worship.  Determine to obey Him.  For the priest the Holy of Holies was a terrifying place.  They entered out of obedience with great fear and trembling.  For them this was the place of God’s manifest presence and in order for them to have this encounter, they had to press into the place that was way past their comfort zone.

There was a real move of God’s Spirit during the message.  People have been commenting on the Holy Spirit coming on them during the message.   I believe this is not a pat on the back for me, but, the knowledge that we have hit a chord with the Spirit.  Remember Unity is a supernatural place we enter.  It’s not a place we create by doing things together.  There are many people who work and live side by side every day and yet hate one another.  Or, they begrudgingly tolerate one another in silence.  Unity is found when the bonds of love and peace are formed around us by the living out of humility toward each other.  (John 17; Ephesians 4:1-3; Colossians 3:12-15)

Lots of personal ministry was spontaneously happening after the service.  You guys are awesome.  Many took the leading of the Holy Spirit and prayed for those in need.  You make a pastor proud.

Blessings on your week.  Listen to the Holy Spirit.  Obey what He says.  Press on through to the finish of your Fast.

Church-wide Prayer Gathering…

j0434135.jpgWe will be having a church-wide prayer gathering January 16, February 20 and March 19 @ 7:00 PM.

We will be sharing information about The Dwelling Place and spending some time in prayer.  Don’t miss this opportunity for us to unite our efforts.  I’m looking forward to seeing all of you there. – Pastor John

Expectation Alert…

Expectation is not a conjured up feeling.  It’s a demonstration of faith.

I have a high expectation for 2008.  This means aligning all of myself with the expectation I have.  This is an alignment of thoughts, feelings, speech, time, resources, and efforts.  When you are convinced you will throw your whole self in.  You will buy it “Hook, line and sinker.”

So, what’s your expectation in 2008?

This Sunday is the first of ‘08.  Let’s align our efforts and our faith with our expectation.  Start inviting all your friends, neighbors and people you meet who are not walking with God and need a transformed life.

Transformation is coming.  I’m expecting it!

Encouragement…

Don’t forget to visit the “21 Day Fast” tab and leave a comments during your fast as an encouragement to others.  Share what God is doing through the fast in your life.  You can also click here to leave a comment

Get Ready, get Set, let’s GO!  God is about to do something awesome!

Transforming Life

"being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit." Ephesians 2:22

The Dwelling Place Community Church was founded on this verse. It embodies the principles that bring real change in life - transforming life. We believe we are being built together. Life was meant to be experienced together, not alone. Relationships are key to growth and transformation. We were created to be a dwelling place for God through Jesus Christ. God's presence in us transforms us. This kind of transforming life is not something we can create and maintain on our own, it is by the power of the Holy Spirit living and working in us. This is The Dwelling Place...
